In an equally stupid situation, the New York City Transportation
Administration, commonly and incorrectly called the "Transit Authority", has
attempted to copyright the word "subway" and prevent any commercial use of
the word. This happened a few years ago. I have not kept up with the case,
and do not know the outcome of any challenges. Perhaps someone else knows.
