Try putting the shaft nut on backwards and screw it on until
the end of the shaft is flush with the nut, heat the housing some,
but don't overdue it or concentrate the heat in one spot. Smack
the nut/shaft sharply with a rather heavy hammer or small sledge.
This should pop the lunette shaft out so it can be rotated. Steady
pressure via a jack probably won't do the job, unless there's a way
to hit the front of the tongue while the pressure is applied. Beware
of flying objects.
