That would depend on what type of clutch pack that you purchased for the
rebuild. There are two distinct types I.E.: one for motor oil and the other
type is strictly for ATF fluid. YOU CAN NOT MIX THE TWO FLUIDS
TOGETHER!!!!IF YOU DO YOU WILL HAVE PREMATURE FAILURE OF THE TRANNY CLUTCH
PACK!!
I don't know where you are having the tranny rebuilt but I would
recommend Memphis Equipment of Memphis, Tenn. due to the fact they have all
the parts for the tranny and have mega experience rebuilding them right down
to the original factory supplied to the US Army test stands which Memphis
uses after a tranny is rebuilt and as I understand they beat the crap out of
em for something like two hours straight to make sure if it's going to fail
it do so there rather than in your vehicle. They go far beyond what you
would ever do to em in a restored HMV. I understand it's a little more
costly to do it this way but they also warranty their work. Something to
consider as food for thought. here is their website address.
