We've been here before but what the hell. . . . . . . . .
OLNA. (MV connection, in-service RN supply ship) Oh Lord, Never Again.
Of course the old chestnuts like:
FORD. Fix or repair daily/Found on road, dead.
LOTUS. Lots of trouble, usually serious.
Some long extinct UK motor cycle trade names (bit unfair to the Americans)
DOT
DMW
JAP
AJS
(translations intentionally omitted, awaiting a reply)
And of course the Japanese motorcycle makers cannot resist an acronym for every
gizmo going and applying same to the vehicle bodywork.
Famously YPVS (US unfair too, a screaming stroker) which popularly became the
bike name to this day.
RD, LC, KIPS, ATAC, EXUP, AVDS, FAIS, BALLS (having realised they'd dropped one,
they dropped the acronym sharpish too), plus many, many more.
