Gene's info to me:
Everything electrical must be changed... Be sure to use everything you
remove from your motor..all the mounts..all the electrical connections..
They are all Military items. The civilian stuff will work for a short
time..then quit.
Your glow plugs of course are 12 volt..the civilian ones are 6
volt..injectors.??? NO..you can leave the civilian ones in there..injector
pump.??will be fine..but the cover ?? You may have to use your military
cover..best to be safe there..can cause a lot of problems.. Gene Pantano
Gene's second letter to me on the conversion:
Oh Joe...on the exhaust manifolds....there was a model of the chevy that
would not interchange..but, if you just use the military manifolds - you
will have no problem. Are you using a used civilian engine ?? Or did you
buy a rebuilt "long" block.?? (We plan on a rebuilt long block. - Joe)
I can't wait to get home... I am here in Ohio at my sister-in-laws.... But
posting to the list is near impossible on this computer for some reason...??
Tell everyone I'll be back in Colorado next Wednesday..I am stopping off at
Fort Riley in Kansas to have a look at the M35's there..! Anyone who wants
to know anythingabout any of them POST IT..I can access the list and read
it..but can't post to it from here.!!??
Later, Gene
Thanks, Gene.
Joe Young
