Get a small aluminum pot or mug which is just slightly larger than the pipe.
You want a reasonably close fit but loose enough so that when you start up
and forget about it, it will
be blown off. Attach a suitable lanyard, and paint OD. The lanyard should be
long enough for you to be able to
store the pot in a suitable location, but short enough so that it's not a
problem, should you
actually forget completetly about it until you are down the road a piece.
Obviously there are more eligant ways, But that will work until you find
time for a better way.
