Usual bidding against a couple of other collectors, then in the last 5
seconds come a bid from a new person.

Of course it all still revolves around what your max price is going to be.
You can always say, "Well I said I would only go XX.00 but, what the hell, I

would have paid a dollar more to have won the item." But what if the other
fella was willing to go a lot more.

These days, I make up my mind what I would really spend on the item,
regardless of the testosterone-based "I gotta win the bid" urge. I plug that

in in my first bid and if I get it, great! If not, oh, well.

Still, it erks me that some one gets the bid at the last second when I think

everyone else has given up and I will soon add the item to my collection.

Gotta put some Zen in your life!! <g>
