Hello list,
Time for me to consult expertise. My M38A1 has passed the annual gouvernment
safety test yesterday, the first under my ownership. Now it is time for a
really thorough maintenance schedule and I have a few questions.
I understand there are two different kinds of grease: lithium based and
sodium based grease. The two don't mix. How can I tell which kind is used on
my jeep? Or should I clean everything and regrease? I use 30W mineral oil in
the engine (F-head). OK? Is it possible to put synthetic oil in the
transmissions and differentials or should it also be mineral oil?
Does anyone know how to dismount a jeep? Check the excellent book by
Granville King and Wilie Worthy 'The Jeep Bible'. I will have to practice a
lot more.......
The winter is gone and spring weather over here is beautiful.
