Has anyone retrofitted an engine with
a 'universal' engine-control-unit? In
other words, replaced the carbs with
fuel-injection and elec. ignition?
Anyone know of a -cheap- ECU ?
The only ones I've found so far are
targeted for ultra high performance
racing, and cost over a grand just
for the ecu box !
I'm looking for something simple and
cheap, like a few hundred bucks, that
can be programmed to run 4, 6, or 8 cyl.
I've got a number of engines that would
really benefit from it...like a Continental
F227 in an old Michigan wheel-loader;
and a Volvo B30 6-cyl....not to mention
the 360 in my J20 jeep!
