Hi Everyone,
I was able to remove the good torque arm from my parts truck,
and install it on the good truck. I did not remove the tires. The
brake plate would have still been in the way of a direct hit to the
torque arm nut/bolt. I hammered a 1 7/16" pickle fork in as a
wedge, screwed the nut out to flush with the bolt, and hit
it on the side (many hard hits - with a two pound smith's hammer).
This shocked the tapered bolt enough to break it free. The bolts on
the good truck were really easy. The parts truck has seen salt water
though, and the bolts were rusted. (note; a 1 1/8" fork would have
fit better - the 1 7/16" fork was pushing the rubber).
Thanks to all who responded last week.
I have a lot of work to bring the fording kit up to complete.
Sarge sent me a complete copy of the fording kit information.
Copying and first class mailing at his cost... The duct tape
securing the envelope said a lot about Sarge. Somehow, as
soon as I saw that envelope, I knew it was from a MV'er...
Thanks Sarge.
I don't think I would have this much green stuff and duct tape
in my life... but, I think I may have been VERBALLY ABUSED
by some USMC Drill Instructors in my younger days...
Am I a VICTIM... Can I SUE...
