That doesn't make a lot of sense though since Bronze or brass is often used for synchonizers and bushings in tranmissions.
Just about all worm gear boxes I have ever seen have always used steel for the worm and bronze for the gear.
Personally I'd use 90W-140 EP gear oil in the winch. Unless of course you plan on doing winching in subzero temps.
