Hi Tony & List,
In the aircraft industry we use a product called "Micro-Mesh". It is
specifically for removing scratches and haze from acrylics and plastics.
Ours is a civilian part number "KR-70", military NSN 5350-01-290-4002 and
includes everything one would need to remove haze or scratches form any
plastic or acrylic. I use it on my watch face, reading glasses and several
other items around the house. The Army uses it on aircraft windscreens,
windows, instrument faces and most anything in a helicopter that needs to be
repaired instead of replaced. You can obtain it at most auto parts stores.
Their POC is Micro surface finishing products, 1217 West Third St., Box 818,
Wilton, Iowa 52778, phone 319-732-3240, fax 319-732-3390. I have used it
for years and highly recommend it.
Best Regards,
