Hi Ian...

The original unit price to the US Government of the M1008 (NSN
#2320-01-123-6827) was $15,751.00 in 1984 dollars. That is the
equivalent of $27,181.47 in today's 2002 dollars!
Incidently, the M1009 (NSN #2320-01-123-2665) originally was sold to
the government for $32,990.00 each! The difference between the
M1008's price and the M1009 must be those bucket seats, all that fancy
rear seat upholstery and the kevlar roof inserts! That M1009 would
cost $56,930.77 today, almost exactly 10 times more than a used one
costs today!
A deuce (M35A2, NSN #2320-00-077-1616) cost the gov a whopping
$41,822.00 in 1970 dollars, which would be $193,265.07 in today's
dollars.
Hope this helps.
