If it's been said once, its . . . a ground that opens up under the extra
amps of a 'start request'. IOW the ground was good under the small load of
ign+dashlites but as soon as the solenoid kicks in you get a mini-zap and
then OPEN. Now everything is dead until the intermittent contact area
settles down and begins conducting again.

Time to disassemble all connections, one at a time, and clean the suckers.
I mean right there between the (-) post & GND you've got big trouble
apparently. Fwiw, usual disclaimers apply, etc. --
