Biggest problem with goats was that they were too training intensive to
learn to drive. The average Joe just couldn't jump in and drive it well.
A Well trained operator matched up with a goat, got you a vehicle that was
almost impossible to stick. Take the back half off, and you have a whale
of a stump jumper!
Maintenance was a chore because of the lack of common parts. 21 different
u-joints if I recall correctly! And that was just the beginning! Not hard
to maintain perse, just time consuming waiting for all the different parts
to come in.
