I'll bet they are Blackhawk helicopter tires. Straight rib, thick wall, hard
to mount. HOWEVER, great for sand or hard rocky areas, hard to puncture,
would last forever on a mule. Not much on wet grass or mud. These tires were
made to hold weight, not traction. If you can't lift a helicopter out of the
mud, you have problems!

I have a set of 12 ply forklift tires on a mule. I run 5 psi. in them and
they will still beat you to death. Those thick walls don't provide much
cushion. They are the nearest thing to "run flat" as you can get for a mule.
Even without air they still stand up.
