And herein is quiet likely the sprag problem. You MUST move the shift lever through first gear when beginning forward motion with the truck. If you shift reverse to second and drive away, the reverse gear clutches are staying engaged. This will cause a lot of drivetrain windup, and it is trying to work itself out. If neglected the steering wheel will tear itself from your hands, and you'll hear a loud metallic crash (like you backed over a Volvo). You can drive away in second, but always at least move the lever through first gear when beginning forward motion.
Don't let the truck roll free in a direction opposite of what the shift lever is indicating either, causes same problem.
