YES IT DOES. THE TM YOU SITE REFERS TO THE CAPABILITIES OF THE DRAWBAR (THAT IS, TO TOW THE LISTED VEHICLES WITH ALL AXLES ON THE GROUND), NOT THE DESIGN OF THE FLEET OF TACTICAL VEHICLES.
TO FLAT TOW A DEUCE THE TM (THE GOOD ONE, TM 9-8022, SAYS PLACE THE TRANSMISSION IN 5TH, THE TRANSFER IN NEUTRAL. TO TOW WITH THE FRONT AXLE LIFTED, THE REAR DRIVESHAFT SHOULD BE DISCONNECTED AT THE INTERMEDIATE AXLE. THE PREVENTS THE VARIOUS COMPONENTS OF THE DRIVELINE FROM BEING DRIVEN BY THE REAR WHEELS WHEN THE MAY NOT HAVE PROPER LUBRICATION. ALSO, ON SPRAG EQUIPPED TRUCKS THIS KEEPS THE FRONT AXLE FROM BEING DRIVEN, SINCE OTHERWISE THE SPRAG WOULD SENSE WHEEL SLIPPAGE (REAR WHEELS TURNING FASTER THAN THE FRONT).
HOPE THIS HELPS,
DAVID
