ac on M35

Please allow me to relate to you what a friend of mine said about putting
a/c in an m35 or M37 - and others.

Obtain from salvage yard all a/c stuff from Chevy. pickup. ( do not know why
he specified Chevy). Mount on platform and hook 11 HP electric start
gasoline engine to it to drive compressor. Size drive sheaves to give some
over 3000 RPM to compressor without having to run motor very fast. (keeps
noise level down). HaHA do not thing noise level in M35 would be a problem.

11 HP is too much HP but he said was about the smallest he thought you could
get with electric start. That gives you battery to supply electricity for
fans. He said 5 or so would be enough HP but you need battery.

Shop build shroud (I am not sure what the radiator thing is called) but
get cooling fan from crossways mounted car and fasten to cool it.

Another shroud around the other radiator looking thing that produces cool
air, with blower fan mounted to it and run flex hoses into cab. Start
engine and it will produce cool air if you have all the leaks stopped and
proper amount of freon installed. He went on to say make a cover for it
when you are not using it and paint OD, letter with something fancy to
justify having box in back of truck.

This man is a very good mechanic - good enough he is shop foreman at Land
Rover and Jaguar dealership.

I am not good enough mechanic to attempt this but sounds feasible.
