Actually that's what I originally thought too, and you and I were
right!
Here is the data on the evaporation rate of these two chemicals:
Xylene:
0.7 (compared to Butyl Acetate = 1)
Acetone:
12.0 (compared to Butyl Acetate = 1)
So yes, acetone dries faster than xylene!
