I coated mine, in an M38 nearly a year ago, had lots of little holes.
Bought the stuff from http://www.eastwoodco.com .
Did 2 coats, and covered larger holes with duck tape.
works great, buy more than you need (as I said, I did 2 coats).

Subject: [MVlist] M151A2 fuel tank
I just found out that the fuel tank for my M151A2 is very bad off. I
took it down to a place to have thewm clean it out, and they put it
in a tank for a while. But it still has some heavy rust inside and
there are numerous pinholes all across the bottom of the tank. I
know that this subject has come up before and many people have
had to deal with it, so what is the best thing to do?
