I believe the winch drive shaft from a multi-fuel will work on a gas
model, but the gasser winch shaft will not work on the multi-fuel. The
winch shaft at the slip yoke end on the multi-fuel shaft is very very
long. The reason is to provide clearance by the bellhousing on the
multi-fuel. I believe the gas engine winch shaft does not have this
long slip yoke shaft and therefore would hit the bell housing. The
multi-fuel bellhousing even has a notch for the winch shaft.

There are two styles of frame extensions used on the G-742 series
trucks. One type is fabricated, the other is stamped. You can
legitamately find either type on any vintage truck. (I have a photo of
one of the very earliest of these trucks, with the "late" (fabricated)
style installed on it in my collection)
The entire winch driveline is interchangeable as an assembly, but you
can't mix gas and multifuel complenents within the assembly.
Hope this helps,
David
