I haven't had a battery last the length of it's warranty in fifty
years. The brand doesn't matter, Interstate, Sears DieQuick
(I mean Hard), NAPA, Exide, Deka... All the same in my book.
$90. a year for a Harley brand battery wore me out. At least a
Sears motorcycle battery lasts two years. The first time a Harley
battery failed on my '89 Springer (bought new), I complained to
the dealer that the batt only lasted two years. He said: "Two years?
Man, they usually only last a year." He was so right. I usually get
three years on a five year warranty car battery that's in almost daily
use. I agree, charge them and keep them charged to make them last
longer, but it doesn't seem to work too well for me. I'd only get two
years out of the very expensive, very big, 12 v. batteries I'd put in my
truck-tractor. This truck ran every day, sometimes seven days a week
year 'round. No real load on the battery, only when starting.
