Play in M151A2 Steering

Howdy List,
I need some of your expert advise. My M151A2 has way too much play or is too loose. You can turn the
steering wheel about 1/4 turn before it starts to turn the wheels. What does the slotted screw and
the bolt do that is on top of the steering gear assy?
