Dear List,
Recently purchased a 1953 M37 that had been sold to the Austrian military
and in that organization until the early '80s. It is in exceptional shape
and well every penny (euro). Just a quick question: There appears to be
some sort of a tranformer-type thingamajig bolted to the grill in front of
the radiator and the generator cable feeds to this first before connecting
to the voltage regulator. It also has four fanbelts. Has anyone out there
heard of such an arrangement and could tell me about it? Is this an
American production option or something the Austrians may have added later?
Would appreciate your input.
