RE: [MV] FYI...Dogs & Kids

As I sit here, as a former Dog owner, and great dog lover,
I am amazed that:
1. we wasting our time discussing this on a MilVeh list.
2. we are so busy defending our own dogs or opinions...

There are two things to concider:
1. dogs owned by MV owners (ie: participants)
2. dogs brought by visitors (unknowns)

both exist. as for unknown dogs, brought onto the field by unknown people,
if you don't have small kids, you better wake up. I know my 140 lbs shepard
was trained.
I do not know if yours was (no, not you, but those pesty show attendees)
Period, if you are willing to vouch for, and take on the legal ramifications
of all dogs coming to shows...

I got some land in Florida....

For dogs that are coming as part of a person's impression, or a dog
attending as a vehicle owner,
Then put them through a test like my vehicle goes through.
Start em, stop em, prove they won't freak out on small childres (you figure
out how to test this out)

I abide by the rules of the MV, I have no fuel leaks, seal my gas when
required, I block my tires.
Dogs cannot be turned off, neither can children, but when was the last time
you had a child bite a stranger?

So, anyone have a british handcart that I can get measurements from?

Bill

This is Jack's fault that he went to a 'people' event.... It is Jack's
'fault' that he does not
subscribe to 'the love me love my dog' extreme position with an obviously
agressive dog
at a public event? He is characterized as 'Jerry lewis' because this dog was
agressive?

So that makes it OK to subject him to that kind of activity? NOT ACCEPTABLE!

NH RSA 466:28 "Any person may kill a dog that suddenly assaults the person

Maybe it is just the way that person is all the time. You don't know

And that is OK? Remember you leave yours at home. What about others who
don't?

Because someone is afraid of your pit bull, it is OK that he is now at risk
to your
or someone elses dog. Most would call it a healthy caution to be that way
with a
strange animal.

Agree

Does that include HMV rallies? Why should Jack have to get 'Depends' to go
to an HMV show?
