An excellent explanation...thanks for saving me the

Part 97 does state that the minimum bandwidth should
be used to facilitate communication. I doubt +/- 15
kHz is necessary and is pretty wide by current
standards. I would hesitate to use at least the
RT-246 at high power during sporadic E openings with
deviation that wide.
