This may or mynot help.
I had a 1964 HD xlch 900cc sporster with the same problem.
What I found was:
At -10 degrees it started and ran fine(kick start/magneto) but after running
for about a half hour and after turning it off, it had a hell of a time
starting. What I thought was happening was that the gas was evaporating as
soon as it entered the cylinders. I adjusted the carb a little richer and
it helped a little.

Subject: [MV] M151A2 engine problem??
I have a 1972 M151A2. The problem is when it is cold it runs fine,
but after it warms up it starts sputtering and jerking as if gas was
not getting to it or something. I recently put a brand new fuel pump
on it, old one was leaking all over the place.
No matter where the choke is set this problem occurs. Fuel filter in-
line is clean. Carb was rebuilt last summer. Gas cap is new. Tank
is about half full.
I can't figure out what would be effected once it heats up. Neighbor
who is a mechanic of sorts suggested that a line might be blocked.
Mine has the last model tank on it with 4 different lines that the
book just calls "fuel and vent". I pulled the gas line off the fuel
pump and applied some compressed air to it and it bubbled in the
tank. But when I took the air line away I was rewarded with about a
gallon of gas. I thought the vent lines would have prevented that
from happening.
At any rate I am at a loss for what to do next and would really
appreciate some suggestion from the list.
Thanks for your time and attention!
