Hi,
There is an article on page 64 in the June, 2002 issue of the Military
Vehicles Magazine that tells you all about changing fuel filters on the
deuce, including a cross reference of filters reprinted from an earlier
article by Bryan Sage (March/April 1997).
I use the Carquest #86512 filter. The equivalent NAPA is supposed to be
#3512.
Yes, you need to bleed the air out of the system after the new filters have
been installed. Just run the in-tank fuel pump and open the bleeder valve on
top and between the secondary and final filters.
The primary filter element was purchased from Memphis Equipment in my case.
The primary filter may also be cleaned and reused if you don't want to buy a
new one.

Cheers,
Bjorn
