Hi folks,
Can someone tell me what the normal cold start procedure for a stock M37
should be? Specifically, do I pump the accelerator before cranking or
not? My truck is very fussy to start, and though I suspect weak ignition,
want to make sure I'm not doing anything too stupid, which wouldn't be a
first time by any means.
So far, I've changed the oil, checked fuel flow, adjusted the parking
brake, looked over wiring, driven it for a few hours etc. The big
problems are hard starting and nasty wiring. I already ordered an NOS
front wiring harness.
Also, my truck has an electric fuel pump, which is scary the way it is
done. I'd like to run stock wipers, so want to do the mechanical fuel
pump again - is it relatively easy to rebuild those with the correct kit,
or should I just buy a new fuel pump? $25+screwing around for kit, $125
or so for fuel pump.
Thanks,
Paul
