I have read with interest the thread about how to start long idle engines,
even the ones that are/have been "stuck". I am in agreement with most of
what has been said, used most of these things in trying to free "stuck"
dodge engine in M43. 1 gallon of penetrating oil, several quarts
transmission fluid, some motor oil, all this over a few months time. Engine
is still "stuck". Slides wheels when you pull it.
Have govt rebuild to put in when I get to it And they are very old also -
my intentions are to pull heads and pans and check inside them before put in
truck.
MAY I ADD THIS
In case someone gets the idea to pour petroleum into cylinders of diesel -
not a good idea in my opinion.
I visualize oil puddles in the cavity in top of piston, would create two (at
least) conditions - 1. would raise compression, 2. and when engine started
will furnish additional fuel - just wonder what would happen.
