Believe it or not, the there is TM 743-200-1, Storage and Materials
Handling, dated January 1958, that tells you just how to store your rubbers
( vehicular, not personal) among every thing else the Army used. I'll dig it
out later and get back to you, but it shows the tires stored indoors, in
huge pyramidal piles, with six or eight strapped together, but unmounted.
I'll have to see if it says anything about inflated tire and rim assemblies,
but I don't seem to remember that option, except on stored vehicles.

    Or try an ETM search on Tires or Storage.
