saw the show on NOVA. The Air Force gave them the plane, but under on
condition. It HAD to fly out under it's own power!! They could not take it
apart and haul it out. After they got it running and airworthy they moved it
to the frozen lake to take off. After the fire and the spring thaw it fell
through the ice to be lost forever.. It's a shame it had sit there since
1947
