If it is "milky" and scratched, you have a chance. If it has gone "orangey"
then it is probably too far gone.

The US Mil used a plastic-polish (the sort used on helicopters), but here in
England, we use good old-fashioned "Brasso", which I think you can buy out
there in the Colonies. You can restore that plastic to a pretty good finish
with Brasso.

If you want to spend LOTS of money for not-much-more-effect, then go to your
nearest airport and buy some of the plastic polish that they use on the
windshields of light aircraft.
