G'day again (wow! TWO posts to the mil-veh list, a record for me!)
I have a small ultrasonic cleaner. It really does work! It's wonderful
for things like carburetor jets and so on. I have read that the parts to be
cleaned should be placed with water inside a plastic cup THEN that in water in
the tank, but I never bother - I just throw them in the tank on the supplied
rack. A few drops of dishwashing liquid seems to help a lot. You'd have to
dry them carefully afterwards and do some rust preventative things, but
I think it's worth it. By that I mean, I can wash parts in petrol until
the cows come home, think they're clean, then put them in the ultrasonic
cleaner and watch with amazement more dirt bubbling off!
Steve.
