not knowing what the items were, I can offer 3 possible situations.
It was a banned item, such as a firearm.
It was a Nazi item, which are largely banned.
There was subject line spamming.
If an item is listed as follows:
M35 M151 M38 CUCV M37 Jeep Humvee
And the item itself has a description such as "great old army surplus misquito netting, ideal to haul in military vehicles", this is what eBay considers to be subject spamming. The seller uses nouns in the subject line that will get a lot of hits, and thus attention, even though the item itself is only remotely related to the headline. This procedure is forbidden by ebay, and if you are browsing ebay and see this happening, and complain to ebay, the listing is investigated. If it is found to be in violation of their policy, that items auction is ended. Repeated violations by a seller can lead to that seller being suspended from ebay.
