Does someone have a good picture of these because with the combat
rims that I've got on the Ferret and Dingo, I just can't picture
these other split rims. The ones on the Dingo/Ferret are not unlike
two saucers bolted base to base with a penetration for the hub to go
through and two sets of bolt holes. The outer holes are the ones that
bolt the inside rim-half to the outside rim-half. The inner set of
bolts attach the entire assembly to the wheel hub.
This seems significantly safer to me from the stand point that unless
you've got major-ly buggered up outer bolts/nuts, the only way for
the assembly to come apart is to undo both sets of bolts at the same
time or the outer ones after the inner ones while you've got air in
the tire.
How are these other split-rims set up/configured. A picture would be best.
