The way I look at it, if the people were not willing to pay the prices that
dealers were asking, the dealers would not go and buy at the auctions. This
is pretty much were the market sets the price. Excluding dealers would not
be in the best interest to the seller either. It would be like you selling
your house, but only low income people could make an offer.

Dave,

In my original message I was not critisizing GL. I do infact think you guys
do good bymost buyers.
It is my opinion that if "big" buyer continue to out bid the little guys,
this will limit who will be able to
restore military vehicle. I don't think there would be a MVPA if these
vehicle were selling for 10k-12k before restoration.

One other thing is maybe you should hold a dealerless auction to give others
a chance to bid within restorers budgets. ( maybe offering vehicles that
need restoring and not just a couple of batteries)

This is not a complaint on dealers either, I think if they continue to out
bid smaller collecters they may put the "Parts business" out.

again just something I observe.

for reference I previously built street rods( back yard) but I wouldn't even
think about doing it in todays market just due to the price of restorable
vehicles.

To All On The List,

I have been asked by many on this list to provide the names of the
successful bidders on MV's, and the dealers have been the largest group
against showing what they are buying vehicles for. After reading these
emails putting GL down for selling "AS IS WHERE IS" I am considering
putting the successful bidders names on the website so everyone can see
what the dealers are buying. Everyone has the option to preview and inspect
any vehicle for sale. If you are buying from the website photo and
description only, then bid according to that information. I have always and
still encourage everyone to preview and know what you are buying. We
receive the vehicles from the government "AS IS WHERE IS" and so you should
be aware that they could be missing parts and need repairs.

Yes, Glen, it's getting ridiculous. Eventually they'll drive some of us
dealers
out of business. And for what? A deuce bid on by pictures and arrives with
a
blown
transfer, transmission or broken crankshaft? No warranty, no re course? I
offer a
full warranty, GL offers as-is, where is.
