I going to disagree here.
The shuttle and its programs are at the very least an offshoot of the
military.
And a case could be made that the toys we play with (or desperately want to
play with, ie: M1A2 Abrams etc...), come from the funding that the space
program lacks.
If we did not face a world that is in the disarray that it is in, we could
afford to peacefully explore space.
But,
from a military standpoint it is easier to drop rocks than to throw them.
The debate I referred to in an earlier post could be "Should MV's be
orbital?"
"Should we at some finite point in the future be biding on and operating
such "HMVs'"?
HOhohohohehehe.... NOT LIKELY! ???
think again.......
What would it have cost on say 1951 to build and operate your very own ENAC
and why would you want to?
Just some thoughts....
....and I'm still in for $100.00.
