Yeah, I know what you mean. I think going out to recover a plane or tank or anything would be one hell of an adventure. I don't think its very likely in my case though as I am a college student on top of being broke. I wouldnt even want to keep the thing, just be there to see it and have an active role in its recovery. Something to tell grandkids and all. Ha, I think I'm a bit too young to be thinking of telling my grandkids anything but it would still be a great time, despite of all the hard work.
I'd love to be kept abreast of any recovery efforts. I remember a little while back all the threads about recovering B-17's (?) and P-51's. Just the thought of being next to one of those makes my spine tingle. Maybe my views are a bit romantic and all but I'd still be willing to carry my weight and get down and dirty with a shovel. Ah well, I think I'll have to put that idea on hold for a while.
