The heater on my m35A2 was plumbed in the same way when I got it.
WRONG!!!! The return hose needs to be routed to the water pump, just
above the Alternator. The intake should be the fitting on the engine
side of the themostat housing. The way yours is now...the coolant
circulating through the heater core goes around the thermostat and into
the radiator making it more difficult for the motor to warm up. After I
changed mine the heater worked much better and the engine quit cooling
down while running at light loads and idling in cool weather ....and
instead maintains180 degrees like it should. Jeff
