This first one may have been for an additional antenna base. The M5
up at VMMV has a blanking panel in the exact same place.

The vehicle at VMMV doesn't have anything mounted there either. The
radio PS is in the way. Perhaps they were brackets for some other
equipment fit? Post war perhaps? I know my dingo has post war mods
that I'll eventually cut and grind off.
