Bruce...the only chocks we had in the navy were on the front of the tugs
and made up of rope line and looked like a giant brown afro...about two
feet thick...used when they nudged up against you to push the ship where
they wanted it. Probably some deck hands that will mention about chocks
and bits though. Fred
