RE: [MV] M35 lockout hubs installed - fuel savings?-Correction-

Back when I was doing the restoration and rebuilding of my jeep's axels, I had the option of using military hubs, or some lockers on the front axel. I decided that I want to go as authentic as possible and losing a MPG or two is fine for a vehicle that I drive once in a while for hobby/enjoyment. Going through Korea, the Civil Defense, and then a couple of civilians, there's a bunch of modifications and crap that I fixed, and still have to.

As for a the deuce, I can understand the diesel mileage problem, because my Plymouth gets about the same MPG! (well actually worse. I tend to run the rear tires at a really low PSI to get a larger foot print. It helps to keep the tires from breaking traction as I put my foot to the floor when the light turns green)

As for fuel savings, I find that a passenger (plural helps too) that's willing to chip in a little gas money can save you more than a few hours in the garage doing a non-stock mod can do.

This is very frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!! Does anyone in here listen?

How many people in here have disabled one of the rear axles on a deuce other
then me?

You WILL NOT be satisfied with what you find happens!

THE TRUCK WILL TEND TO GET STUCK VERY EASILY!!!!!!!!!!!

In addition, I think you will be pounding on the drive train as the rears
tend to hop
a bit on a deuce and having only one with marginal traction will only make
it worse IMO.
