No, Art, do not stay away from the List. You offer good advice
and sell great products. As to not really needing power assist
on my deuce, well, that's because I grew up and spent my life
driving cars and trucks without it. Heck, in the forties my
family lived in a shack with a coal heater, no indoor plumbing
(it was my job to haul buckets of water from a neighbor's house), a coal fired range and an outhouse. We did have electric, but rarely turned a light on. No TV, but we did have
a 1939 RCA radio. So, to me the power steering on my deuce is
a luxury that I really can't live without now. Seems my truck is always the one surrounded by a bunch of trucks, tires,
junk engines, old scrap and trees when I have to get it out :)
As Art will attest, I've sold a lot of his hubs. We do not
charge labor when we install them on a truck when a buyer wants
them.
When I mentioned mpg with a deuce, just keep in mind that my
33' V-10 Ford gas powered motor home costs me several dollars
just to warm it up and pull it out of the driveway. I do have above ground storage tanks for diesel and gas, so I don't pay
"pump" prices.
My main concern now is home heating oil prices. Cripes, less
than 200 gallons cost me $317. last week. I'm wearing insulated
underwear, flannel shirt, Carhart insulated jeans and have a
mug of rum hanging on my dog.I can't see out the windows, ice.
No old lady to keep me warm, so I have to use my mummy sleeping
bag.
