Floyd, here's my anwers to your questions.
> 1. Just how realistic is using a M1009 as a family car? Completely. The
6.2 diesel is a great motor for a "car" however I wouldn't want to use one
to tow any kind of heavy load.
> 2. How reliable are they for everyday driving? I've driven them on I80
from California to Colorado and back many times (well above the posted speed
limit). No problems except with the Uniroyal Laredo tires that usually come
on them.
> 3. What kind of gas mileage do they get? Mine have all got around 23MPG.

> 6. If not how hard is it to add and at what cost? ???? I've seen it done,
my guess to have someone do it for you would cost between $1000 and $1500.

I sell them I go through them completely, replace all fluids, good
batteries, new paint, etc and sell them pretty qickly at $6,500.

people in the MV business to be prettty reputable.

family, the radio rack is rather obtrusive for anyone sitting in the back
seat.
> 11. Should I just forget about a M1009 as a family car? I had one that was
a daily driver for many years.

Hope this helps.
Bill
