Ryan,
The crane was purchased privately about ten years ago. It was mounted on an
ex-Navy 1968 International Loadstar (seen in one of the pictures) and I got
both for about $3,900.
The crane (1972 HIAB model 765A) has always worked perfectly and has
required zero maintenance except for routine oil changes and lubing.
The capacity, according to the label on the pedestal is 8,250 lb at 6 ft,
4,200 lb at 12 ft, 3,500 lb at 16 ft, 2,500 lb at 20 ft and 1,500 lb at 25
ft. It swings 360 plus degrees.
The Navy had specified a smaller than standard hydraulic pump, reducing the
lifting capacity somewhat. The present crane-truck combination is extremely
useful. The only drawback is the weight that is always hauled around, about
3,500 lb for the crane w/outriggers.
