Hello
Ordnance Museum Foundation meeting on 19 March went very well, a shame
that on an Ordnance School post and surrounding military/civilian area only
15 folks showed up. Foundation staff went to great lengths to have enough
food, soda, beer and deserts for 50. Mrs Stein (spl?) from SARCO, NJ drove 3
hours to attend meeting, helped out and volunteered to run Raffle at 8-10 May
Rally at Churchville. Wish there were some more like her locally. Anyway
here are a couple of major bullets for those interested

- Journal of Military Ordnance will not be published anymore, Ordnance Museum
foundation members will now get "Military Vehicles" magazine. Ordnance
Museum Curator and others will write article for each issue of MV Magazine.
Cost of Museum Foundation membership is $35 so seems like a great deal.

- Latest buidling plan is to construct 10 each 35 x 300 foot pre-engineered
buildings at a cost of $250,000 each, local USMC will provide labor to erect.
While not the most pretty of buildings, all other options have been too
expensive, no Military construction funds. Previous idea was to build one
huge super Kmart size pre-engineered building at an estimated $10M. Will
seek to get Industry donations/grants to get started.

- Raffle of the Swedish Recon jeep is going well, vehicle is awesume, will
be taken to 8-10 May 30th Annual East Coast Rally . Drawing will be held at
1500, right after judging, we raised $85,00 two years ago when Volvo
ambulance was raffled. Right now you can buy raffle tickets at Museum web
site using PayPal too.

- Museum Foundation will have tent at Rally and be selling donated articles
from SARCO as well as other items.

- Membership has been down due to need to get pass at gate, but as long as
you have photo ID and spend a few minuteschecking in public can still come.

- Visits to restoration facility can be made by appointment, plan is to try
and keep all restored vehicles under cover as much as possible until new
building can house them.

Regards
Tom......
