12V lights on 24V vehicle

Question to those who are good with electrical principals.

I want to install a set of fog lights on the Deuce. I have a few 12V sets, and
I was thinking that connecting the two fixtures in a serial pattern may work
with a 24V source. As in:

  +24V <------O---------------O------> ground
          12V light 12V light

What say you?
