FYI:
Radomes ARE painted using a purpose-formulated paint that does not
contain RF reflective/absorbant pigments such as titanium dioxide which
is commonly found in many other paints. Back in the '50s, '60s and '70s,
when the USAF had more than a hundred AC&W radar sites all over the
country, we had a contractor that traveled from site to site painting
the radomes. IIRC, the domes were repainted every two or three years
because the paint did not hold up well due to the lack of more durable
pigments.
